Testing cum Quality Engineer Job Role
(Control Panel Automation Industry)
A Testing cum Quality Engineer in a control panel automation company is responsible for ensuring that electrical control panels are manufactured wired tested and delivered as per customer specifications quality standards and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct electrical and functional testing of control panels before dispatch.
- Verify wiring connections as per GA drawings schematic diagrams and BOM.
- Perform routine tests such as:
- Continuity Test
- Insulation Resistance (IR) Test
- High Voltage (HV) Test
- Power ON / Functional Testing
- Continuity Test
- Ensure panel components are installed as per approved drawings and standards.
- Check quality of panel assembly wiring dressing ferruling and labeling.
- Identify faults troubleshoot issues and coordinate with production/design teams for corrections.
- Maintain testing reports quality checklists and inspection records.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications ISO standards and electrical safety norms.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) with customers if required.
- Monitor incoming material quality and finished panel inspection.
- Support continuous improvement in quality and testing procedures.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of electrical control panels PLC panels MCC PCC VFD panels etc.
- Understanding of electrical drawings and circuit diagrams.
- Familiarity with testing instruments such as multimeter megger clamp meter etc.
- Basic troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of industrial automation components like Siemens Allen Bradley Schneider etc.
- Attention to detail and quality-oriented approach.
Qualification:
- Diploma / BE in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Experience: 15 years in Control Panel Manufacturing / Automation Industry
Preferred Qualities:
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work under deadlines
- Team coordination with production and design departments
- Problem-solving attitude
