Job Summary
JSM is seeking a contract Data Quality Analyst to help us raise the quality of the data underpinning our product. Data quality directly affects the reliability security usability and trustworthiness of what we deliver to our users and data accumulated over the past 9 years has eroded some data quality. This role will focus on projects and customer accounts that have been non-functional for five years or more yet they along with their dependent data that persist in our active systems. The introduction of a new ERP system provides more opportunities to clean data related to customers and their access. We need an expert who can extract data from existing databases use various fields and queries to identify functional areas and dormant data determine what can be archived or removed and more broadly make recommendations to improve overall data quality and maintenance practices. Working alongside the Product Owner and functional stakeholders this role will assess the current state of our data diagnose the root causes of quality issues and recommend the right set of improvements from identifying and retiring obsolete data to normalization standardization de-duplication and correction. This is a business-outcome driven role: the objective is to have measurably better leaner more trustworthy product data. Familiarity with Maximo Windchill or the marine/maritime domain is a strong advantage.

What You Will Do:
- Identify dormant and obsolete data. Find functional areas that have been inactive for extended periods five years or more and map the dependent data tied to them so we know exactly what can be safely archived or removed.
- Understand our product data. Study the data that powers our product across primary and related data sets and build a clear picture of its structure relationships and dependencies.
- Tell us where we stand. Assess data quality against the dimensions that matter to us accuracy completeness consistency uniqueness validity and integrity and give us an honest evidence-based view of the current state.
- Find the root cause not just the symptom. Explain why quality issues recur so we can fix the source not just the surface.
- Define what good looks like. Help the product team establish data quality standards and success measures we can hold ourselves to.
- Recommend the right improvements. For each issue prescribe the appropriate remedy archival or removal of obsolete data normalization / restructuring de-duplication standardization correction or enrichment with clear rationale business impact and priority.
- Protect what depends on the data. Map how our data relates across tables and systems so that any archival removal or improvement preserves integrity and doesnt disrupt downstream product behavior or reporting.
- Show the improvement. Define quality metrics and demonstrate measurable before-and-after improvement.
- Help us sustain quality. Recommend the rules validations and standards that keep quality from degrading again after the engagement ends.
- Leave us self-sufficient. Document findings decisions and improvement logic so the product team can carry the work forward.
Education & Experience
- Graduate with Min of 9 years of experience as Data Quality Analyst
- Experience in Marine Industry will be an added advantage
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Proven track record improving data quality for a product platform or enterprise system.
- Experience identifying obsolete dormant or redundant data and defining safe archival / removal approaches.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the discipline to spot subtle data inconsistencies trace dependencies carefully and validate findings before recommending changes.
- Strong grasp of data quality dimensions and the ability to translate them into terms the product team and business stakeholders understand.
- Solid understanding of how data is structured and related normalization principles and dependency mapping across primary and related data sets.
- Sound judgement on which remedy fits which problem balancing effort against business value.
- Ability to profile and analyze data independently and turn findings into clear prioritized recommendations.
- A consultative product-minded approach comfortable advising stakeholders framing trade-offs and driving decisions.
- Ability to work independently and ramp up quickly with minimal supervision.
Good to Have
- Working knowledge of IBM Maximo (asset / EAM data) or PTC Windchill (PLM data).
- Familiarity with the marine maritime or classification-society domain.
- Experience with master data management (MDM) data governance or data quality frameworks.
