Network Projects - Project Manager

Context

Saint-Gobain Group Digital and IT (500 people at headquarters) is responsible for defining implementing and managing the Group's Information Systems and Network policy with its 1200 companies and suppliers worldwide.

Job Purpose

Working within the Network Projects team the Project Manager will contribute to a multi-year international transformation program aimed at:

• Migrating locally managed LAN environments to a centralised management framework

• Improving operational efficiency security and service consistency across sites worldwide

• Standardising LAN architectures and operating models

This role combines program leadership LAN expertise and strong stakeholder management working closely with central teams regional IT and local site representatives.

In addition to this core program the Project Manager will also contribute to other network and infrastructure projects depending on business priorities workload and program needs ensuring flexibility and optimal resource utilisation within the Network Projects team.

Main Activities

Key Responsibilities

1. Centralised LAN Transformation Program

  • Contribute to the 2year program to transition Local IT LAN management to a Centralised LAN Management model
  • Thoroughly understand the target operating model for centralised LAN management
    (roles responsibilities processes SLAs / SLOs escalation paths)
  • Build and maintain the global rollout roadmap including waves priorities and dependencies
  • Ensure alignment between technical standards operational processes and organisational change
  • Track progress risks and benefits realisation and report to senior IT management

2. LAN Standardisation & Industrialisation

  • Define and enforce Group LAN standards for:
    • Switching (access/distribution)
    • Enterprise WiFi
    • Network Access Control (NAC) and segmentation
  • Drive simplification and convergence of LAN designs across regions
  • Promote reusable architectures and deployment templates to support large-scale rollout
  • Ensure LAN solutions meet performance resilience and security requirements

3. Transition & Change Management

  • Coordinate the progressive transfer of LAN responsibilities from Local IT teams to Central IT
  • Support local teams during transition phases
    (handover documentation knowledge transfer)
  • Manage impacts on users operations and local IT organisations
  • Ensure service continuity during transition and migration phases
  • Act as a key facilitator between Central IT Regional IT and Local IT stakeholders

4. Project Delivery & Governance

  • Lead LAN transition projects at site and regional level
  • Coordinate network operations teams
  • Manage project scopes schedules risks and dependencies
  • Organise and lead steering committees working groups and technical reviews
  • Ensure compliance with Group governance security and operational processes

5. Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Act as the single point of contact for LAN centralisation topics
  • Communicate clearly on objectives timelines impacts and progress
  • Prepare executive-level dashboards status reports and decision papers
  • Build strong relationships with international IT teams in a multi-country environment

6. Contribution to Other Network Projects

  • Support and lead additional network or infrastructure projects as required in line with team priorities and strategic initiatives while ensuring alignment with Group standards and governance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree (Bac 5 or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network or infrastructure project management
  • Proven experience leading large-scale IT transformation or centralisation programs

  • Experience managing organisational change and distributed teams
  • Excellent analytical synthesis and presentation skills
  • High level of autonomy rigor and accountability
  • Proactive structured and results-oriented mindset
