What should you bring along

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering Automotive Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in suspension assemblies structural components chassis systems and vehicle integration.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in automotive product design and development with strong expertise in Suspension Systems.
  • Strong understanding of automotive engineering processes product development lifecycle and quality standards.
  • Very good English language skills (German language is an advantage).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with global cross-functional teams.

Must have technical skill

  • Define system architecturekinematic analysis technical requirements and design specifications for suspension systems.
  • Lead concept generation feasibility studies design optimization and trade-off analysis considering performance cost weight manufacturability and packaging.
  • Develop and review suspension components for durability strength NVH and vehicle dynamics performance.
  • Oversee detailed design activities GD&T implementation tolerance stack-up analysis and manufacturing readiness.
  • Ensure robust designs for dynamic loading vibration fatigue and durability requirements.
  • Manage BOM release configuration control and product data within PLM systems.
  • Evaluate design changes for technical impact quality cost timing and manufacturability.
  • Drive Design-to-Cost initiatives through value engineering supplier collaboration RFQ reviews and cost optimization.
  • Manage requirements engineering traceability DVP&R validation planning and sign-off activities.
  • Lead DFMEA risk assessments technical reviews and engineering decision-making.
  • Support prototype builds DV/PV testing issue resolution and design validation activities.
  • Collaborate with CAE teams for simulation correlation performance validation and design improvements.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Testing Quality Purchasing Suppliers and Program Management teams.
  • Drive lessons learned warranty analysis customer feedback integration and continuous improvement activities.
  • Review supplier technical deliverables APQP/PPAP documentation and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Knowledge of Global Engineering & Quality Standards.
  • Cross-Functional & Customer Management Experience.

Good to have Technical skills

  • Experience working with global automotive engineering teams preferably in collaboration with OEMs such as BMW within international development environments
  • Knowledge of engineering data management including digitization workflows data exchange formats (e.g. JT STEP) and version control processes within PLM systems.
  • Exposure to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles particularly for chassis structures and suspension components.
  • Ability to contribute to rapid engineering iterations and development cycles ensuring high-quality robust and manufacturable design outputs while meeting performance and safety requirements.
