Job Introduction
International Wealth and Personal Banking (IWPB) serve millions of customers with a full range of banking and wealth management services. Within IWPB the Credit Cards team focuses on delivering customer-centric propositions and efficient compliant journeys across onboarding and servicing.
Were hiring an Intern Platforms and Project under HSBC Indias 12-month Apprenticeship Programme. This role is designed for recent graduates (within 5 years of completing their degree) with no prior work experience required. Youll support platform stability business reporting and strategic projects to improve credit card onboarding and servicing especially through automation and simplification.
Principal Responsibilities
1) Strategic projects (onboarding & servicing journeys)
- Support delivery of strategic initiatives across credit card onboarding and servicing journeys with a focus on automation simplification and improved customer outcomes.
- Assist with requirements gathering process mapping UAT support and documentation (SOPs user guides change notes).
- Track project milestones dependencies and risks; help coordinate across product operations technology risk and compliance.
2) Business & risk dashboards (critical reporting)
- Create and maintain critical business and risk dashboards (e.g. application drop-offs processing TAT failure rates complaint volumes reversals/chargebacks themes where relevant).
- Ensure data accuracy version control and clear commentary on drivers risks and actions.
- Automate recurring reporting where possible (e.g. templates refresh routines standardized metrics).
3) Daily complaints management related to systems and platforms
- Monitor and manage day-to-day complaints/incidents linked to platform or system issues impacting credit card onboarding/servicing.
- Maintain issue logs (root cause impact owner ETA closure) and ensure timely follow-ups with technology/operations teams.
- Support preparation of daily/weekly updates for stakeholders highlighting trends and recurring issues.
Education Qualifications / Requirements
- Recent graduate (within 5 years of completing a Bachelors degree) no prior work experience required.
- Degree in Business Engineering Computer Science Data/Analytics Economics or related fields preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with data and operational metrics.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Preferred Skills (Nice to have)
- Excel (pivot tables lookups) PowerPoint; Power BI/Tableau and basic SQL are a plus.
- Understanding of digital journeys process improvement or automation concepts (e.g. workflow RPA) through academic projects.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines.
