• Define and execute the Database Engineering strategy across the business.
• Build lead and develop high-performing database engineering teams.
• Establish organization-wide standards for database architecture performance reliability and security.
• Partner with Product Platform Infrastructure and Service Management leaders to deliver critical initiatives.
• Drive modernization automation and cloud optimization across the database estate.
• Own hiring talent development succession planning and team performance.
• Manage delivery priorities capacity planning roadmaps and stakeholder expectations.
• Champion AI-assisted engineering practices and ensure consistent adoption across teams.
• Track delivery quality and operational metrics to continuously improve outcomes.

• Deep expertise in SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL at enterprise scale.
• Proven experience leading a database or data infrastructure function.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms database resilience disaster recovery and security.
• Experience establishing technical standards and influencing multiple engineering teams.
• Demonstrated success building developing and retaining engineering talent.
• Excellent stakeholder management strategic planning and leadership skills.
