Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer (Mechanical) to join our engineering team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and releasing engineering drawings Bills of Materials (BOM) technical documentation and supporting manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should have experience in AutoCAD 2D drafting and exposure to Rotary Air Preheaters Electrostatic Precipitators Gates & Dampers and related equipment used in Power Plants Cement Plants and Sugar Plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and release 2D engineering drawings raw material specifications and technical documents against customer orders.
- Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) for production and procurement activities.
- Support the sales and commercial teams by providing technical inputs for proposal and tender submissions.
- Coordinate with production planning stores purchase quality and commercial departments to resolve technical queries.
- Liaise with customers to understand project requirements and provide engineering solutions.
- Develop design concepts specifications and detailed engineering documentation.
- Prepare sub-delivery item lists forging details casting requirements and procurement-related engineering documents.
- Participate in product development prototyping testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve quality productivity efficiency and cost optimization.
- Conduct engineering analysis and design modifications for existing products and systems.
- Support procurement and quality teams during vendor inspections and material verification activities.
- Maintain engineering drawings technical documents revision records and design databases.
- Provide technical support to project teams production departments and management regarding product design and manufacturing capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards customer specifications and quality requirements.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D Drafting.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Knowledge of fabrication drawings assembly drawings and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with BOM preparation and engineering documentation.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and customer requirements.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and coordination abilities.
- Knowledge of industrial equipment used in Power Plants Cement Plants and Sugar Plants.
- Basic understanding of quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Required Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and Navisworks. Proficiency in creating 3D models Piping Isometrics GA drawings and Piping -depth knowledge of Piping BOM MTO and Piping Material Specifications (PMS). Familiarity with piping support systems and basic understanding of stress analysis. Solid understanding of P&ID for boilers and power plants. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions. Strong leadership abilities to manage and guide a team towards successful project completion.
Required Education:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) or Bachelors Degree in Engineering (BE) with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the design stream.
