Database Engineer II

The Database Engineer II plays a key role in supporting and optimizing Tekions database environments. This role develops maintains and scales database solutions that ensure performance availability and security. It involves cross-functional collaboration hands-on development and growing ownership of key database operations.

• Designs and implements database solutions including schema changes stored procedures and indexing strategies.

• Performs performance tuning query optimization and diagnostics to resolve system bottlenecks.

• Monitors and manages database health backups and failover procedures across environments.

• Automates recurring maintenance and data processing tasks using SQL and scripting tools.

• Collaborates with development DevOps and product teams to align database design with application needs.

• Participates in code reviews documentation and the enforcement of best practices.

• Supports incident response and root cause analysis for database-related issues.

• 46 years of experience in database engineering or administration

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field

• Proficiency in SQL scripting (e.g. Python Bash) and data management tools

• Experience with database performance tuning monitoring and recovery strategies

• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL platforms (e.g. PostgreSQL MySQL MongoDB DynamoDB)

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across engineering and infrastructure teams
