Analyst

An Ideal candidate for this role would:

1. Develop update and maintain the various dashboards that the program

team uses for internal and external communication.

1. Maintain and test existing data systems as well as develop new systems as

and when the requirement arises.

1. Perform data cleaning and manipulation from various sources for efficient

performance of data systems as well as catering to program requirements

for various stakeholders.

1. Develop competencies to improve on existing competencies in data

visualisation as well as data engineering to ensure effective delivery and as

part of personal capacity building.

1. Developing organising and maintaining large datasets in structured and unstructured formats to provide live insights under the analytics domain understanding nuanced data ethics and security.
2. Training and supervising both field- based and off- field data operations

teams and ensure data quality.

1. Conducting occasional internal training and workshops as part of capacity

building and de-aggregation of competency dependency.

1. Assisting in preparation of reports documents and presentations for program team and clients as well as dissemination activities for learning purposes and concurrent evaluation.
2. Reporting to the respective project manager on all of the above mentioned

activities.

1. Any other data related work for the Catalyst Group.

Profile of potential candidate:

Essential skills and experience:

or advanced level working with R or Python with the expectation to build at least intermediate level competency in both in the six months since joining.

1. Familiarity in packages for (a) data manipulation and transformation and (b) visualisation. For eg: Tidyverse group of packages in R and Pandas in Python.

to advanced level in Microsoft excel.

level in Power BI.

with SQL databases.

documentation and report writing skills.

project management and execution skills.

fluency in Tamil or Telugu or both

Desirable skills and experience:

least intermediate level working with both R and Python for data cleaning manipulation transformation and visualisation.

and experience in building data pipelines.

and maintaining SQL and/or NoSQL databases.

to advanced level in PowerBI.

experience in GIS data and technologies.

experience working with SurveyCTO.

in ArcGIS.

with APIs for data extraction.

with Linux.

experience working with the cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) suite of services.

Education:

An ideal candidate would have completed a program with (a) a strong statistics or data related component/s in their program or (b) a computer science related component/s or (c) both. A focus on the social sciences or development sector or public policy would be preferred. However if the candidate exhibits ample experience working on the aforementioned technologies and skills either professionally or as a hobbyist their profile would be considered irrespective of educational background.

Recruitment Process:

Shortlisted candidates can expect a recruitment process carried out in three the first phase the shortlisted candidate would be required to complete a take-home assignment which would constitute a coding and data cleaning and manipulation assignment. On clearing that the second phase would involve a personal interview with the team lead along with a technical interview. The final phase would involve a psychometric test. The recruitment process should take around 4 weeks.
