035065 Product Safety and Compliance Systems Manager (Open)Job Description:
Manage and maintain the product safety and regulatory compliance program(s) to ensure product compliance with the various regulations and packaging safety standards. Maintain and implement UN governance programs in line with global goals of regulatory compliance team. Assist in product compliance issues as well as product technical support issues.
Will determine monitor and maintain competency of plant personnel in conjunction with the Product Solutions department with responsibilities in UN/ADR/DOT certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains training programs and materials. Leads or assists in the training of designated individuals who participate in the company test/compliance programs.
- Determine assess update and manages changes to the EMEA/APAC regional training system for UN related training roles.
- Maintains existing UN module for regions where already implemented and acts as system owner for troubleshooting training and technical issues.
- Implements UN module in additional EMEA/APAC regions as dictated by rollout strategy and business need. Functions as project manager for each implementation and interfaces with IT as needed.
- Functions as UN expert for EMEA/APAC to answer questions and provides guidance/oversight around various regional & national transportation regulations.
- Responsible for auditing regulatory compliance with applicable EMEA/APAC transport regulations at production locations. Conducts regulatory audits verifying individual plants level of regulatory compliance. Follows up on audit activities or finding to closure.
- Maintain regulatory UN compliance instruction UN/ADR/DOT audit templates and training materials needed to ensure a consistent and measurable process throughout the organization.
- Participates in the investigation and root cause analysis of any test failures both internally and externally.
- Participates and supports regulatory investigations and corrective actions. Ensuring that needed adjustments to compliance programs take place as a result.
- Provides product technical guidance to internal and external customers including materials selection design manufacturing testing and end-user problem solving
- Monitors UN/ADR and other regional transport regulations and assesses impact to Greif. Periodically provides feedback to steering committee on regulatory changes and develops actions plants to mitigate risk.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Chemistry preferred. or equivalent work experience is required.
- Experience in dealing with packaging manufacturing regulations for the transportation of dangerous goods such as ADR CFR 49 or UN Orange Book Recommendation and experience in trouble shooting packaging product performance issues related to manufacturing raw materials or supplied components.
- 5-7 years in a related required; 10 plus years in related preferred
Knowledge and Skill
- Must be highly motivated analytical and results oriented.
- Sound knowledge of packaging requirements for HMR.
- General auditing skills in quality management systems.
- Strong communication skills both one on one and ability to conduct instructor lead training.
- Ability to use of remote activity management tools such as web conferencing or instant meetings.
- Industrial shipping container manufacturing experience and knowledge of applicable regulations a plus.
- Considerable travel is required; however this can be offset with a strong ability to communicate/manage/lead/direct individuals remotely.

Compensation Range:
The pay range for this position is Ft.00 - Ft.00 annually. Typically a competitive wage for new hires will fall between.00 to.00 annually. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge skills experience and geographic location.
