Job Summary

Our international preclinical CRO partner is in search of a Head of Laboratory Operations to lead the day-to-day laboratory operations ensuring effective resource management operational efficiency and compliance with GLP and applicable ISO standards.

The position will work in close cooperation with C-level executives to achieve site-level objectives with a focus on balancing timelines costs quality and capacity. The Head of Laboratory Operations will oversee laboratory teams resources facilities and operational planning while supporting continuous improvement and client-facing activities.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day laboratory operations ensuring activities are delivered efficiently on schedule and in line with GLP ISO and internal requirements.
  • Directly manage laboratory teams and coordinate staffing workload and resource allocation.
  • Ensure appropriate availability and readiness of laboratory facilities equipment and qualified personnel.
  • Work with scheduling and laboratory group leaders to optimize capacity and ensure smooth study execution.
  • Oversee onboarding training and development of laboratory personnel and support recruitment of new employees.
  • Participate in client visits site tours and relevant client communications.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency resource utilization and laboratory processes.
  • Work in close cooperation with C-level executives and relevant internal stakeholders to support strategic and operational priorities.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable health and safety animal welfare quality and ethical requirements.

Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience in laboratory operations preclinical research CRO pharmaceutical or a related life sciences environment ideally with people management experience.
  • Proven experience managing genetics and in-vitro laboratory teams resources equipment and operational workflows in a regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GLP and familiarity with ISO standards and relevant quality health and safety requirements.
  • Experience with resource planning capacity management laboratory scheduling and operational prioritization.
  • Strong leadership communication organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a CRO or preclinical research environment is a strong advantage.
  • Degree in life sciences laboratory sciences biology chemistry or a related field.
