Job Summary


Roles and Responsibilities

Documentation Management:

  • Prepare and verify critical trade documents including Commercial Invoices Packing Lists Bills of Lading (BL) and Airway Bills.
  • Handle specialized paperwork such as Certificates of Origin Letters of Credit (LC) and Shipping Bills.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical records for audit and statutory purposes.


Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure all activities adhere to DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) Customs RBI and FEMA guidelines.
  • Manage export incentive schemes such as Duty Drawback MEIS/RODTEP and Advance Licenses.
  • Classify goods according to the Harmonized System (HSN) to determine correct tariffs and duties.

Logistics & Coordination:

  • Liaise with Custom House Agents (CHA) freight forwarders and shipping lines for smooth cargo clearance.
  • Track real-time shipment status and proactively resolve delays or logistical bottlenecks.
  • Negotiate freight rates and select the most efficient transport modes (sea air or land) to optimize costs.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Coordinate with internal departments like Finance Sales and Procurement to align shipment schedules with inventory needs.
  • Communicate directly with overseas clients and suppliers regarding shipment updates and documentation requirements.

Reporting & MIS:

  • Prepare periodic Management Information System (MIS) reports detailing shipment costs performance metrics (KPIs) and compliance status.


Essential Skills

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Incoterms international trade laws and customs procedures.
  • Tools: Proficiency in MS Excel ERP systems and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for filing.
  • Soft Skills: Strong negotiation attention to detail and the ability to multitask under tight deadlines.


Requirements


  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Incoterms international trade laws and customs procedures.
  • Tools: Proficiency in MS Excel ERP systems and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for filing.
  • Soft Skills: Strong negotiation attention to detail and the ability to multitask under tight deadlines.



Required Skills:

BBA/MBA required. 4 to 6 years of solid experience within the manufacturing sector ideally in export-import or trade documentation. Prior professional experience in Africa is a significant advantage. Immediate joiners preferred (no notice period).
