Conbulk Shipmanagement Corporation is an established shipmanagement company based in the heart of Piraeus. Specializing in the management of Container vessels we are currently seeking a results-driven Technical Superintendent to ensure the technical integrity reliability and optimal performance of our vessels.
The roles objective is to provide premier technical support troubleshooting advice and engineering assistance on all technical matters concerning the safe efficient and cost-effective operation of the managed fleet. The Role Reports to the Fleet Manager and the Technical Manager.
Tasks
Inspect assigned vessels regularly reporting on technical and safety issues. Monitor performance metrics including vessel speed fuel oil (FO) lube oil (LO) consumption and cooling water quality.
Prepare comprehensive Dry-Dock (DD) specifications based on PMS reports Class rules and Owner standards. Attend DD projects and repairs to supervise contractors control budgets and enforce standards.
Establish troubleshooting methodologies organize workshop repairs and ensure the effective execution of the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
Monitor and maintain the validity of all statutory ship certificates in compliance with Flag Class Port Authorities and P&I Clubs.
Maintain precise shore-side records of machinery conditions plans drawings and instruction manuals. Track spare parts consumption and manage requisitions in liaison with the Purchasing Department to ensure timely supply.
Act as an active member of the Risk Assessment (RA) team Management Review Committee (MRC) and Emergency Response Team (ERT). Brief and debrief shipboard officers regarding technical and IMS policies.
Requirements
Chief Engineer (C/E) License or a University Degree in Marine Engineering Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
At least 3 to 4 years of solid shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent in a shipmanagement office specifically managing Container Vessels and Bulk Carriers. Hands-on experience leading DD projects is vital.
Sailing experience as Chief Engineer (minimum 3 years in rank) will be considered an asset.
Full professional proficiency in English (oral and written) and adequate computer literacy (MS Office Danaos ERP & Infogate will be considered a plus).
Travel flexibility for vessel attendances emergency repairs and new acquisition deliveries.
Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between crew and the shore-side ensuring alignment on technical and safety standards.
