About Signal Ocean: Signal Ocean is the technology arm of the Signal Group. Our primary product The Signal Ocean Platform enables shipping professionals to securely handle integrate and assess intricate collections of private and public shipping data. Driven by advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence our technology suite provides tailored exclusive insights that support our clients in achieving performance and efficiency. Insights are delivered over web and mobile applications as well as through a rich set of APIs. Signal has recently acquired AXS Marine and we are actively integrating the two companies.

Graduate Scheme: This graduate scheme is designed to equip you with the knowledge skills and experience to thrive in the dynamic world of technology within the space of commercial shipping. Over a period of approximately 18-24 months youll gain a well-rounded understanding of the industry develop technical expertise and learn the ropes of technical sales.

Structure: The program is divided into 4 stages providing a structured learning journey with hands-on experience. You will embark on a twelve-month rotational program where youll be embedded within three distinct roles. This immersive experience will provide you with a deeper understanding of all aspects of Signals commercial operations. The graduate scheme will be managed by the Director of Data Sales and the day to day supervision will rotate across the various teams involved.

Stage 1: Learning Academies and API Tech Sales (4 months)

You will do our three inhouse academies combined with working with our Data Sales team.

Academies:

• Tanker Chartering Academy: Gain a foundational understanding of the commercial shipping industry. It is a fast-paced overview of the Commercial function. The training includes all the basics about shipping and is accompanied by introductory videos live sessions and quizzes covering all shipping functions.
• Product Rotation Academy: Learn about the Signals product offerings you will have the opportunity to dive into the Signal tech world by understanding the business background the scope key actions and the data flow for each product team and the interconnection between them.
• Sales Operations Academy using Mindtickle

API Tech Sales

• Work alongside our API technical team to leverage Rest APIs Snowflake Python and SQL to create valuable assets using Claude.
• Develop case studies showcasing the power of Signals APIs in tackling real-world challenges in the shipping industry and the Hedge Fund world.
• Focus areas may include global oil and dry bulk flow analysis port congestion insights and global vessel supply visualization.
• Tools: Claude VS Code Grafana MsSQL Snowflake

Stage 2: Revenue Operations (4 months)
Sales teams use various tools and dashboards good quality and easy to use data can be a differentiator between a thriving team and one that struggles. You will help us improve and extend our toolkit so we can win together.

Revenue Operations tasks:

• Understand signals lead to cash infrastructure including Salesforce
• Build custom dashboards to support sales process
• Experiment with AI initiatives and deploy agents to optimize the sales process and minimize frictions and inefficiencies
• Transition Powerbi reports to native solutions
• Support a new Go to Market motion end to end
• Tools: Salesforce Claude PowerBi

Stage 3: Client Success (4 months)

The best way for one to understand the value we bring is by understanding the day to day life of our customers. You will join our CS team to help our customers hands on and learn all these details that can make a difference.

Client Success tasks:

• Immerse yourself in a fast-paced client success environment directly addressing client inquiries across all aspects of Signal Groups products.
• Hone your communication and problem-solving skills while building a deep understanding of customer needs and pain points.

Stage 4: Team Specialisation (6-12 months)

Following the rotational program well select the team that best matches your strengths interests and business needs. Youll become a fully integrated member of that team taking ownership of increasingly complex projects while developing deep expertise in AI-enabled commercial solutions and modern go-to-market technologies.

This stage focuses on building independence technical depth and commercial impact as you prepare for a permanent role.

Stage 5: Launch Your Career at Signal!

Upon successful completion of the graduate program we will offer you a position within either our sales or revenue operations depending on your aspirations strengths and our current business needs. The two career paths that are currently envisioned:

• Member of the international commercial team in a Technical Sales Technical Client Success Field Sales or other role
• Member of the Revenue Operations team

Studies in Electrical and Computer Engineering: A solid knowledge in these field is crucial. Youll be able to grasp the complex technology behind our platform.

Exceptional English Communication (Written & Verbal): Given the global nature of our business flawless English communication is paramount.

Passion for Learning the Shipping Industry: Demonstrate a genuine interest in the intricacies of this dynamic field. Research current trends delve into the challenges and opportunities and showcase your eagerness to contribute.

Problem-Solving Aptitude: The ability to identify and solve technical issues related to onboard users is essential. A proactive and analytical mind will be a valuable asset.

Teamwork and Adaptability: This role demands seamless collaboration with a diverse team of colleagues. Youll thrive in a dynamic environment readily adapting to new situations and fostering effective communication.
