Marine Superintendent

Conbulk Shipmanagement Corporation is an established shipmanagement company based in the heart of Piraeus. Specializing in the management of Container vessels we are currently seeking a results-oriented Marine Superintendent to ensure the operational integrity safety and regulatory compliance of our vessels.

The roles objective is to provide optimal support advice and assistance on all marine and nautical matters concerning the safe efficient and compliant marine operation and effective maintenance of the managed fleet. The role reports to the Marine Manager.

Tasks

• Supervise and monitor all aspects of assigned vessels including navigation cargo/ballast handling and mooring to ensure full compliance with company requirements maritime rules and industry standards.
• Conduct internal audits ashore and onboard. Perform specialized shipboard Navigational Assessments VDR audits and Mooring/Cargo audits to maintain top-tier operational safety.
• Inspect assigned ships regularly providing clear instructions to the Master and senior officers. Monitor and follow up on third-party inspections and Port State Control (PSC) audits.
• Serve as an active member of the Incident Investigation Team Risk Assessment (RA) team and Emergency Response Team (ERT).
• Review reports on non-conformities and verify the implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
• Ensure that ships FFE (Fire-Fighting Equipment) and LSA (Life-Saving Appliances) certificates remain valid. arranging timely servicing in line with Flag requirements.
• Ensure effective preventive maintenance of the hull and deck equipment as per the PMS.
• Brief and debrief Masters and Officers on IMS safety issues and pending owner/third-party requirements before and after their appointment. Closely monitor the maintenance and adaptation progress of newly promoted Masters upon assuming command.
• Cooperate with Technical Superintendents regarding Dry-Dock (DD) repair planning and repairs.
• Partner with the Purchasing Department to ensure the timely supply of nautical spares stores and paints.

Requirements

• Master Mariner License Class A from a recognized maritime academy.
• Proven shore-based experience as a Marine Superintendent in a shipmanagement office specifically managing Container vessels & Bulk Carriers. A well-established and proven record of relevant work experience is required.
• Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of ship operations navigation cargo handling statutory regulations and Class standards.
• Full professional proficiency in English and adequate computer literacy (experience with Danaos ERP Infogate and MS Office is highly valued).
• Travel flexibility for vessel attendances audits emergency incident support and new acquisition deliveries.
• Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to bridge the gap between crew and shore offering guidance to Captains and Officers.
• A collaborative professional who works seamlessly across internal departments to ensure ships achieve optimum performance consistent with commercial obligations.
