The HSE Coordinator supports the HSE Manager in implementing and maintaining the companys Health & Safety Policy at the Athens confectionery and chocolate manufacturing plant. The role ensures that all production and support activities are conducted with the highest concern for health and safety fostering a world-class safety culture and driving continuous improvement toward an accident-free workplace.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Assist and lead the cultural transformation regarding HSE to help lead plant to achieve Zero accidents and Incidents
  • Be responsible for coordinating and overseeing implementation of all Health & Safety programs and processes in compliance with HSE Standards as referenced in the applicable HSE Management System
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable Greek occupational Health and Safety legislation and all applicable EU regulations
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections hazard assessments and risk evaluations specific to confectionary manufacturing hazards
  • Participate in investigations to facilitate closure of identified non-conformances
  • Provide Health and Safety expertise for the plant for all new projects and change management activities
  • Follow up on non-conformances and develops the systems to resolve them based on root cause analysis
  • Maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system assist with investigating incidents in conjunction with the HSE Pillarteam/safety committee and drive the completion of corrective actions to eliminate root causes/reoccurrence
  • Develop technical guidance programs to identify and remove physical hazards

  • Environmental Health and Safety Culture
  • Environmental Health and Safety training in specialized areas
  • Experience in safety and/or environmental technical standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels and globally
  • Understanding and knowledge of regulatory reports and compliances including experience with ISO
  • Strong knowledge of applicable Greek and EU health and safety legislation
  • Understanding of food manufacturing hazards specific to confectionary and chocolate production
  • Proficiency in incident investigation methodologies and root cause analysis

More about this role

Language: Fluency in Greek is a requirement

Good command of English is required for corporate reporting and communication

Education / Certifications: Bachelors degree preferably in Engineering

Job specific requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage employees at all levels including production floor operators
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks and develop practical solutions
  • Strong organizations skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting
  • Ability to deliver engaging training sessions and safety awareness campaigns in Greek language
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of PowerBI (desirable)

Please note this position will be based in our Athens Plant.
