Job Summary
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Site Manager / Drilling Supervisor to join a leading mineral exploration drilling contractor operating across Ghana.
This position is responsible for the safe efficient and profitable management of drilling operations at remote exploration sites. The successful candidate will lead site-based drilling crews supervise daily operations ensure compliance with HSE standards maintain strong client relationships and deliver projects safely on time and within budget.
This role suits an experienced drilling professional with a strong background in surface and/or underground drilling operations excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a remote FIFO environment.

1. Site Operations Management
- Manage day-to-day drilling operations at site.
- Ensure drilling activities are completed safely efficiently and to client specifications.
- Coordinate drilling schedules shift planning and operational priorities.
- Monitor drilling productivity and implement improvements where required.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Lead and supervise drilling crews and site personnel.
- Provide coaching mentoring and performance management.
- Promote a positive safety culture and high-performance work environment.
- Conduct toolbox meetings shift handovers and operational briefings.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and workforce planning.
- Ensure full compliance with company HSE systems and client procedures.
- Promote Zero Harm culture across site.
- Conduct workplace inspections and hazard identification.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure PPE safety procedures and environmental controls are maintained.
- Maintain professional relationships with site representatives.
- Attend client meetings and operational planning sessions.
- Provide regular progress updates and operational reports.
- Resolve operational issues promptly to maintain client satisfaction.
- Coordinate drilling equipment utilisation.
- Monitor rig performance and equipment availability.
- Work closely with maintenance personnel to minimise downtime.
- Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed.
- Assist with mobilisation and demobilisation of rigs and support equipment.
- Complete daily weekly and monthly operational reports.
- Maintain drilling records and production data.
- Monitor site costs and resource utilisation.
- Ensure accurate timesheets and operational documentation.
- Support operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years experience within drilling operations.
- Proven experience supervising drilling crews on remote mine sites.
- Strong background in surface and/or underground drilling operations.
- Experience managing exploration drilling projects.
- Previous experience working within Africa is highly regarded.
- Experience in remote FIFO operations preferred.
- Relevant technical qualification in Drilling Mining or a related discipline (preferred).
- Supervisory or leadership training highly regarded.
- Valid drivers licence.
- Current Passport.
- Able to obtain Ghana work permits and site medicals.
- Strong knowledge of exploration drilling operations.
- Excellent operational planning and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage drilling KPIs and productivity.
- Good understanding of HSE systems.
- Equipment utilisation and workforce planning experience.
- Strong reporting and administrative skills.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office and reporting systems).
- Excellent people management skills.
