Job Summary
The Senior Engineer will provide technical leadership across the organizations energy operations ensuring optimal performance reliability and efficiency of generation assets battery energy storage systems (BESS) and monitoring platforms. The role involves overseeing engineering operations supporting system optimization and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will work closely with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that enhance system uptime operational efficiency and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Operations & System Performance
- Lead and oversee technical operations across power generation and energy systems.
- Monitor and optimize performance of battery storage systems generators and network infrastructure.
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime reliability and operational efficiency.
Monitoring & Systems Management
- Oversee SCADA systems remote monitoring platforms and real-time performance dashboards.
- Analyze system data alarms and performance metrics to identify issues and implement improvements.
Maintenance & Reliability
- Develop and manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in solar PV systems inverters generators and hybrid energy systems.
Team & Contractor Management
- Supervise and provide technical guidance to engineers technicians and third-party contractors.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely and quality service delivery.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain compliance with Energy Commission of Ghana regulations and industry best practices.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare technical reports performance analyses and engineering documentation.
- Recommend and implement system upgrades process improvements and cost optimization initiatives.
- Support budgeting planning and project coordination activities.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Technical Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Renewable Energy Engineering or a related field.
- Valid certification or license from the Energy Commission of Ghana.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems inverters generators and hybrid power systems.
- Hands-on experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and battery lifecycle management.
- Working knowledge of SCADA systems remote monitoring platforms alarms and performance dashboards.
- Proficiency in engineering software diagnostic tools Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings schematics and electrical diagrams.
- Sound understanding of HSE standards and regulatory compliance.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in power renewable energy utilities or industrial operations.
- Proven experience in operations maintenance and troubleshooting of critical energy systems.
- Experience managing contractors technicians and third-party service providers.
- Strong reporting budgeting and project coordination skills.
