Job Summary

Summary
This role is dedicated to leading comprehensive impartial and fact-driven inquiries into potential fraud corruption misconduct theft financial discrepancies misuse of Telecel assets conflicts of interest policy violations and other issues that could jeopardize the organizations financial stability operational efficiency legal standing or reputation. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of investigations from initial allegation assessment and strategic planning to evidence collection interviews analysis reporting and facilitating disciplinary actions. The position also involves serving as the primary point of contact with law enforcement supporting legal proceedings and ensuring strict adherence to confidentiality ethical standards and all relevant internal and external regulatory frameworks while driving continuous operational improvements based on investigative outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Execute full-scope investigations into reported incidents of fraud and criminal activity ensuring all legal and administrative documentation is meticulously maintained.
  • Advise on and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures or legal actions for employees and contractors found to have violated company policies.
  • Prepare and deliver witness statements to support ongoing legal or internal disciplinary proceedings.
  • Coordinate with external entities including the National Security Service (NSS) Ghana Police Service (GPS) and the Bank of Ghana (BNI) regarding investigative requirements.
  • Oversee and respond to information requests from regulatory authorities guaranteeing that all disclosures are accurate and submitted within required timelines.
  • Perform background screening and due diligence assessments for prospective new hires.
  • Facilitate the recovery of assets and funds lost due to fraudulent activities or theft.
  • Evaluate fraud and crime risks through regular reviews and provide timely updates to senior management.
  • Serve as the official liaison between the organization and law enforcement agencies concerning reported criminal cases.
  • Represent the company as a witness in various court proceedings where Telecel has a vested interest.


Requirements
Requirements:
  • Education & Certification: A Bachelors degree or a relevant professional certification is mandatory; candidates holding the Basic Investigations Certificate from the Detective Training Academy of Ghana are preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of professional experience in risk management or investigative roles.
  • Legal Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Ghanaian legal statutes specifically regarding legal disclosures at the Case Management Conference level of prosecutions.
  • Industry Background: Prior experience within the telecommunications financial services or closely related sectors.
  • Core Competencies: Demonstrated excellence in analytical thinking report writing and professional communication.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong leadership capabilities unwavering integrity and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Possession of a professional certification in fraud prevention or investigations such as the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) is highly advantageous.
  • Additional Assets: A history of successfully managing corporate investigations and collaborating with law enforcement a mindset focused on process improvement and commercial value and proven experience handling sensitive information within regulated environments.
