Our Client within the manufacturing sector is looking for a Transformer Test Technician to carry out routine testing of transformers and power transformers
Minimum Requirements:
Carry out routine testing of all transformers up to 50 MVA at 170kV:
- Electrical Qualification Electrical Trade Certificate &/or Diploma / Degree advantageous
- Prior experience in the transformer industry required
- More than 5 years experience in transformers testing including power transformers up to 50 MVA 170 kV Class
- Ability to prepare testing circuits interpreting customer specification
- Computer literacy- Microsoft Office (Word Excel etc)
- Valid drivers license
Carry out routine testing of all transformers up to 50 MVA at 170kV:
- Voltage ratio & polarity testing
- Insulation resistance testing
- Winding resistance testing
- Separate source over-voltage withstand testing
- Induced overvoltage withstand testing
- No load loss & magnetisation testing
- Full-Load loss & Impedance testing
- Auxiliary instrumentation & control system testing
- Auxiliary voltage (PT) & current (CT) measuring device testing
- Prepare oil sampling from transformers and perform oil voltage breakdown test
- SFRA test
- Tan Delta/Capacitance test
- Temperature rise test
- Partial discharge test
- Impulse test
- Prepare final test calculations of basic routine tests to show transformer performance
- Prepare test reports to Customers using WTA Test Bay System (ENS)
- Carry out meetings with Customer on a high technical level to present the tests results and solutions to sort out any issues detected during inspections
- Assist on production process of transformers up to 50 MVA 170 kV and carry out factory tests before final assembly
- Liaise with Engineering in ensuring identified standards are adhered to pertaining to manufactured product and corrective action is effectively undertaken in case of a failure
- Plan and coordinate the activities of other Test Bay Technicians
- Assist in training of subordinate staff and enhance their career development
- Prepare test bay procedures
- Test transformers on site under customer requisition or to check any lack operation problems or fails
- Assist the implementation of new Test Bay System (ENS) at WTA test bays
- Provide in high technical level information to Sales ContractAdministration PCP and to the Customers
- Read and understand national and international standards
