Sustainability Officer (f/m/d)
The Position
- Develop in collaboration with stakeholders across the organization European XFELs first sustainability strategy by identifying priorities benchmarking international best practices and recommending areas for future action.
- Establish and coordinate the sustainability reporting framework and prepare European XFELs sustainability report.
- Coordinate the collection and analysis of sustainability-related data and monitor relevant sustainability legislation reporting standards and best practices.
- Support the integration of sustainability into campus development facility upgrades and operational activities by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate sustainability initiatives across the organization promote awareness and engagement and represent European XFEL in national and international sustainability networks.
- Prepare reports presentations and briefing material for management committees and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Completed academic degree in Sustainability Environmental Sciences Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in sustainability management reporting or a comparable field.
- In-depth knowledge of sustainability reporting standards and frameworks; familiarity with ESG-related frameworks is an advantage.
- Sound Understanding of sustainability challenges relevant to research infrastructures or comparable scientific or technical organizations.
- Strong analytical conceptional organizational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate activities across different disciplines.
- Excellent written and spoken English; German is an advantage.
