Job Description:
For the position of Specialist (m/f/d) within the International Healthcare Command Center (IHCC) department at Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN) effective as soon as possible. Initially offered on a temporary basis for evaluation purposes.
Responsibilities
Support the primary mission of the International Healthcare Command Center by safeguarding critical healthcare shipments entrusted to UPS care
Monitor shipment movements and provide proactive resolution for at-risk or disrupted healthcare shipments
Ensure export shipments are processed on time and support operational activities related to aviation security customs clearance and transportation requirements
Identify and mitigate operational issues affecting shipment movements and communicate solutions to relevant stakeholders
Work closely with internal departments including Dangerous Goods Cargo Feeder Dispatch Outbound Inbound Industrial Engineering Transit Aviation Security Air and Ground Handling teams
Prepare and distribute daily operational summary reports
Proactively communicate shipment delays documentation discrepancies volume mismatches and other operational issues to UPS stakeholders and customers
Support escalations outside normal office hours and coordinate with Operations Customs Teams and Customer Solutions Groups
Conduct shipment investigations and physical searches for urgent cases when required
Support the IHCC day team with unresolved customer cases and operational challenges
Requirements
Technical or vocational certification related to Hub Operations Logistics or a comparable field
Experience within logistics transportation airport operations customs or healthcare supply chain operations
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work proactively in a dynamic operational environment
Excellent communication and coordination skills with multiple stakeholders
Fluency in English and German is preferred; additional European language skills are an advantage
Experience with UPS operational systems such as OPSYS WEBOPSYS IDIS CPVG IVP Workday My Talent Center and CGN internal systems is an advantage
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel Word and PowerPoint
Ability to work independently make sound decisions and remain effective under pressure
Strong teamwork skills flexibility and customer focus
Working Hours
Sunday through Saturday according to roster 23:00 07:00 hrs
Compensation
According to qualifications and experience NRW III pay grade.
