As a Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d) in the Banking & Payment Operations team youll be part of a cross-functional agile team that ensures smooth and secure loan accounting and cash flows between investors and borrowers.

What you can expect:
- Shape the Future of FinTech: Work in an agile cross-functional team to develop scalable and secure financial solutions.
- Architecture & System Design: Identify and address architectural limitations make pragmatic trade-offs and help evolve systems toward scalability reliability and long-term maintainability.

- Knowledge Sharing & Engineering Influence: Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence by sharing knowledge improving team practices and promoting high standards for software development.
- Collaboration & Problem Solving: Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders actively contribute to design reviews and address root causes of recurring technical challenges.
- Ownership & Mentorship: Take responsibility for challenging projects and guide team members through technical mentoring and hands-on support.
- Strategic Thinking & Growth Mindset: Balance short-term delivery with long-term system sustainability and continuously look for opportunities to improve technology processes and team effectiveness.
- Understand the Business: Gain deep insights into non-technical business-related processes within a leading FinTech company and help shape solutions that drive real impact.
- Maximum Flexibility: Work remotely from anywhere in Germany with only two office visits per year required.
Your profile
- Passionate Developer: You enjoy solving complex problems writing high-quality software and contributing ideas in an agile environment.
- Backend Expertise: Several years of hands-on experience with object-oriented programming (preferably PHP) and MySQL databases.
- Cloud & Containerization Know-How: Experience with Kubernetes Docker and CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment and scalability.
- Event-Driven Architecture: Familiarity with Kafka and event-driven or service-oriented architectures is a plus.
- Testing Enthusiast: Knowledge of PHPUnit or Cypress to ensure robust software quality.
- Monitoring & Performance Optimization: Experience with New Relic or similar tools to keep services running smoothly.
- Version Control Savvy: Proficient in Git ensuring efficient collaboration and clean versioning practices.
- Finance Enthusiast: Interest in financial systems and processes; experience in FinTech development is a plus.
- Product-Oriented Mindset: A strong focus on building solutions that deliver measurable value for users and business outcomes.
- Team & Communication Skills: Strong communication skills in English (German is a plus) and a collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and contribute to a supportive engineering culture.
