Your New Role
At the intersection of quantum computing and industrial application you evaluate state-of-the-art classical and quantum algorithms and translate complex customer and internal requirements into well-defined solution concepts for relevant TRUMPF use cases
In close collaboration with experts in laser technology EUV semiconductor manufacturing and photonics you identify high-impact quantum use cases and combine quantum computing with high-performance computing resources to build powerful hybrid pipelines and demonstrators
You systematically benchmark implemented prototypes against classical methods document performance and scalability and contribute actively to an agile team environment through backlog refinement sprint planning reviews and retrospectives
Presenting results to stakeholders customers and management you actively shape technology roadmaps and strategic planning bringing your expertise to bear on both near-term deliverables and long-term vision
As a representative of TRUMPF you cultivate relationships with technology partners universities and research institutes contributing to a strong and growing scientific network
What You Bring
Solid expertise in quantum computing: hands-on experience with quantum algorithms and error correction techniques practical programming with quantum SDKs such as Qiskit Cirq PennyLane Braket or comparable frameworks and a sound understanding of current quantum hardware capabilities and limitations
Proven experience in high-performance computing through designing implementing and executing computations on HPC systems or cloud clusters ideally using MPI OpenMP CUDA or equivalent technologies
A strong theoretical foundation in quantum mechanics and quantum information theory; experience in AMO physics solid-state physics or laser physics is a welcome addition
Your background may stem from a degree PhD or equivalent practical experience in physics computer science mathematics electrical engineering or a related field; experience in semiconductor or photonics industries and a record of scientific publications in quantum computing are advantageous
Excellent communication skills in English and a genuine enthusiasm for working in interdisciplinary international teams round out your profile; German skills or a willingness to learn are welcome
