The ZEOS B2B Platform is the high-performance engine that allows our partners to seamlessly integrate into the Zalando ecosystem. As a Senior Fullstack Engineer you will be a key architect of the services that power our partner-facing products and internal operational tools. Our mission is to transform complex business requirements into a scalable API-first platform that empowers partners to grow with speed and flexibility.

In this role you will lead the development of mission-critical microservices ensuring they are resilient secure and cost-efficient. You will work within an agile cross-functional team of engineers and product managers where technical excellence is balanced with business impact. • Engineer Scalable Backend Systems: Design develop and evolve high-performance Microservices using Java and Spring Boot ensuring they handle the complexities of a global B2B landscape.

• Design Intuitive APIs: Help us build RESTful services that prioritize clarity and ease of use ensuring a seamless experience for every developer who interacts with our platform.

• Own the Full Lifecycle: Support the You Write It You Run It philosophy. You will be responsible for the entire journey of your codefrom initial design and Gradle-based builds to deployment and 24/7 operational health.

• Master Cloud Infrastructure: Leverage AWS and Kubernetes to build resilient distributed systems that are compliant-by-design and operationally transparent.

• Drive Engineering Standards: Set the bar for code quality through rigorous testing code reviews and the use of modern tools like Jackson for efficient data processing.

• Collaborate Across the Stack: While your heart is in the backend you enjoy collaborating with frontend teams and have an interest in Fullstack contexts to ensure end-to-end feature success.

• Mentor and Guide: Actively share your knowledge within the team and across the ZEOS community helping to navigate technical uncertainty and architectural trade-offs.

• Seasoned Java Developer: You are a seasoned Java Developer with deep expertise in Spring Boot and a strong grasp of the modern JVM ecosystem (including build tools like Gradle).

• Thoughtful Architect: You have extensive experience in Microservice architectures distributed systems and designing clean versioned REST APIs.

• Cloud Native Contributor: You are proficient in deploying and operating applications within AWS and are comfortable navigating Kubernetes environments.

• Quality-Minded Practitioner: You are highly skilled in building CI/CD pipelines and believe that automated testing and observability are fundamental to Senior level engineering.

• Agile Partner: You thrive in agile environments taking ownership of complex topics and moving them from discovery to production with an analytical and solution-oriented mindset.

• Effective Communicator: You possess excellent English skills and the ability to translate technical complexity into actionable plans for both engineers and stakeholders.

• Fullstack-Curious: You have an interest in how the frontend consumes your services and are happy to jump across the stack to help the team deliver a cohesive product.
