The Opportunity

This position works out of ourMunichlocation in the Laralab GmbH.

Software Engineering Leadership

• Leadmentorandscaledistributed engineering teams; ensure high-quality execution predictable delivery and continuous improvement.

• Represent engineering with internal executives customers partners and regulatory bodies.

• Work withkey engineers to drive theadvancement/integrationof the current productinto a scalablemedical software platform.

• Work with relevant stakeholders tosupportthe advancement/integration of the current a globalDigital Solutionsquality managementsystem.

• Manage external development partners vendors and suppliers; support sourcing cost optimization and delivery excellence.

• Supportthe hiringofengineering talent with emphasis oninnovativemodern UX-focused AI- and cloud-based medical software solutions.

• Proactivelyidentifyand mitigate technical delivery and integration risks across programs.

Munich Site Leadership

• Serve as thesite leaderfor the Munich Digital Solutionsorganization

• Lead inspire and further develop thegrowingteam ofcurrently30 employees including coaching and mentoring direct reports.

• GuidelongtermMunich team vision providing direction on key organizational and strategic decisions; support budgeting and resourcing activities; ensure visibility alignment and advocacy with corporate and business unit leadership.

• Define annual Munich siteobjectivesand driveexecution.

• Act as the primary escalation point forsiterelatedpeople operational and organizational challenges partnering with global Digital Solutions leadership and Abbott functional leaders as needed.

• Identifylearning and development opportunities for the Munich team including Abbotttrainings externaltrainings and field visit programs.

Your Qualification

Required

• Bachelors degree in computer science Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field; or equivalent experience.

• Minimum10 yearsin software engineering with 5 years leading multi-team engineering organizations building cloud-native or hybrid solutions.

• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to influence across enterprise functions (Product Marketing IT Security Compliance);proven ability to makeobjectivesof different stakeholders converge into a combined roadmap.

• Demonstrated successleadingthedevelopmentdeliveryand operationofcomplex scalable systems across cloud and/or edge.

Preferred

• Masters degree (e.g. MS in Computer Science Computer Engineering or Engineering Management).

• Experience in regulated healthcare medical devices or similarly regulated industries; familiarity with quality systems and software lifecycle standards (e.g. IEC 62304) is a plus.

• Proven experiencewithscalingand integratingsmall localteamsinto an internationalenterprisecontext.

• Track recordof developing platform-based software products that enable self-service and scale across product teams(SDKsAPI-based productstemplates reference architectures).

• Experience working withthird-partyvendors SLAs and managing technical contracts or sourcing negotiations.
