Job Summary

The Senior Commercial Analyst - Renewables Forecasting will have responsibilities including but not limited to the following: 

  • Analyse monitor and benchmark the performance of renewables forecasts from external providers and create combined forecasts  
  • Identify evaluate and implement statistical forecast improvements 
  • Lead the effort for using AI/ML tools for developing new models 
  • Create and improve renewables forecasts for our portfolios across Europe based on numerical weather models 
  • Follow academic publications and market trends and work on their implementation in the context of renewables forecasting 
  • Develop statistical arbitrage strategies based on renewable forecast data 
  • Support the operational forecasting duty by identifying and solving operationally critical incidents 
  • Support in preparing ad-hoc commercial analyses for internal and external stakeholders 
  • Regularly update stakeholders on recent developments and performance evaluations 

Qualifications :

Your profile: 

  • Excellent university degree in mathematics physics meteorology engineering or business with strong quantitative focus 
  • Several years of experience  in renewables power forecasting for short-term power markets 
  • Experience with numerical weather models is an advantage 
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills 
  • Significant modelling and programming experience preferably in Python  
  • Ability to solve analytical problems in limited time when necessary 
  • Strong commercial mind set 
  • Proactive and independent way of working 
  • Excellent communication in English is a must
