What Youll Build

The SAP Internship Experience Program is SAPs global strategic paid internship program that provides university students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers. This is more than an internship; its the foundation for a career built on connection creativity and impact.

Position title: SAP iXp Intern (f/m/d) - Strategic Innovation Projects - Data Scientist

Location: Potsdam Germany

Internship duration: 6 months

As a Data Scientest intern in our Strategic Innovation Projects Team you will work on innovative projects that emphasize the value proposition of SAP Business AI.

Under the supervision of senior developers you will have the chance to directly interact with customers and users to perform all necessary tasks.

You will be responsible for data exploration data engineering and data cleaning to ensure high-quality inputs for AI-driven solutions.

You will also analyze AI workflows to rate and enhance them identifying opportunities to improve performance efficiency and addition you will support model evaluation adaptation and integration into platforms and products helping to deliver robust AI features to real end users.

You will have the chance to directly work with an agile group of students with a tech and design background to bring ideas together and jointly deliver data-driven solutions that create real impact to real end users.

We are looking for a data science student wo is equally comfortable with analytical thinking and software engineering practices.

You should be able to contribute to an AI feature at every stage to craft what is needed to deliver a great experience to real end users.

What Youll Bring

• Student (f/m/d) at a university of applied sciences in Computer Science Data Science or a related field
• Technical skills:
  • Foundational knowledge in machine learning and data analysis methods
  • Strong problem analysis and qualitative evaluation skills
  • Experience in source code management (e.g. git)
  • Experience in Frontend Development (TypeScript React) or Backend Development (e.g. Python Java Rust)
  • Knowledge about UX fundamentals and methods
• Language skills: Fluent in English (written and spoken) German is a plus
• Soft skills:
  
  • Eager to learn about new technologies
  • Hands-on reliable and open-minded mentality
  • Strong team working skills
  • Determined to reach a goal in time to work independently and to prioritize tasks
• Work Experience: This position is entry level. Its a great opportunity for any motivated development student who wishes to gain practical development experiences

At Strategic Projects as part of the Chief Technology Office we are driving forward Research & Innovation development excellence by creating cutting-edge solutions especially for strategic CTO topics and implementing novel and strategically relevant solutions e. g. projects with a strong focus on implementing innovation in enterprise learning.

In addition we prepare and support major SAP CTO keynotes provide expertise and develop proof-of-concepts for strategic technology topics. Our team consists of about 50 colleagues who are students young professionals and experienced professionals in the areas of software development design project management and team/management assistance.

We work in teams that are mainly located in Potsdam/Berlin and Walldorf and collaborate closely with other SAP teams to realize our mission.
