Job Description:

We are looking for a Quality Conformance Manager (d/f/m) to join our this role you act as the quality wall directly at our supplier locations to secure product conformity and ensure that all components strictly adhere to our design specifications and safety requirements. If you enjoy hands-on quality assurance working closely with international suppliers and are ready for extensive travel across key production sites this is the right opportunity for you.

Your location

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Note on travel requirements: This role requires extensive international travel for the majority of the year to different supplier locations for short periods (approx. 35 weeks per year typically in short 1-week trips).

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Act as the accountable quality wall at the supplier side to secure product conformity and ensure safe operation documentation for all cabin parts and cargo work packages released to Final Assembly Lines (FAL) manufacturing plants and customers

  • Plan and execute First Article Inspection (FAI) checks by witnessing supplier FAIs for new cabin and cargo components ensuring engineering design and specification requirements are correctly understood verified and recorded

  • Verify supplier FAI readiness upon invitation by checking required FAI documentation questionnaires and engineering design review results prior to on-site visits

  • Perform Source Inspections (SI) and FAI buy-backs at supplier facilities on special request (e.g. in cases of decreasing quality performance or high customer expectations) occasionally in joint visits with airline customers

  • Consult with Engineering departments for technical verification when required ensuring reproducibility and maintenance of acceptable quality standards for consecutive production parts

  • Provide objective evidence key observations and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) based on AS/EN/JISQ9102 standard checks to internal interface teams and project departments

Your boarding pass

  • University degree in Engineering (Aerospace Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering) Quality Management or a completed qualification as a State-Certified Technician / Master Craftsman (Techniker / Meister) in a relevant technical field

  • Initial experience in quality assurance quality inspection or supplier quality management ideally within the aerospace or high-tech manufacturing sector

  • Solid understanding of quality inspection methods and standard aviation frameworks (familiarity with AS/EN/JISQ9102 FAI standards is a strong asset)

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to act assertively yet diplomatically as an Airbus quality representative towards external suppliers

  • Negotiation level in English; German would be a strong plus

  • High flexibility and willingness for extensive international travel (approx. 35 weeks per year typically in short 1-week trips)
