Job Summary
Your tasks and responsibilities
- Review and comment on specifications and drawings during initial project stages in cooperation with yards and designers
- Supportyardsselection as well ascontractandtechnicalnegotiations fornewbuild projects
- Negotiatespecifications system drawings and3D reviewswithyards together with the teams of owners representives
- Coordinatedaily newbuildingprojectactivities directlyreporting to theHead of Newbuilding &Projects
- Organize review and negotiate proposals as well as supplier selection for onboard systems ensuring compliance with company standards reliability and optimized OPEX
- Evaluatetechnical solutions and suppliersregardingmaintenance costs maintainability durability regulatorycomplianceandoperationalusability
- Review and commenton drawingsfor approvalin close cooperationwith internalexpertsand project partners
- Stay up to date with technical development in machinery systems
- Liaison with classification societies flag stateadministrationsand regulatory bodies
- Maintain close communication with site office teams clarify technical issues attend factory acceptance tests and seatrials and provide technical support to site teams until vessel delivery
- Degree in ship-engineering or a related field
- Extensive professional experience in asenior position as ChiefEngineer or Second Engineer
- Previousexperienceas a memberof a newbuilding site team ata shipyard isan advantage
- Basic knowledge of business administration includingreporting
- Strong communicationskillswith fluency in English
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to adapttodifferent culturesand mentalitieswithin the international shipbuilding market
- Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally
