Network IT Engineer
Job Summary
- Design network architecture topologies and scalable enterprise solutions supporting on-premise and multi-site environments.
- Plan and deploy secure routing switching and wireless infrastructures to meet business objectives.
- Configure and manage FortiGate SonicWall and Juniper firewalls virtual private networks (VPNs) and security policies.
- Ensure network security through segmentation access control lists (ACLs) and threat mitigation.
- Automate routine configuration changes deployment tasks and monitoring workflows using tools and scripting languages like Python or Ansible.
- Optimize efficiency by reducing manual configuration errors through automated provisioning scripts.
- Write technical documentation standard operating procedures and change management logs.
- Create and maintain detailed Connection plans Layer 2 and Layer 3 network diagrams reflecting current infrastructure topologies and device interconnectivity.
- Provide Level 2/3 support to diagnose and resolve complex network outages latency issues and security events.
- Monitor performance metrics and resource utilization to plan for future capacity upgrades.
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IP-based network design implementation and troubleshooting.
- Deep hands-on operational experience with Fortinet Fortigate firewalls and security fabric.
- Active Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) Fortinet Certified Expert (FCX) or equivalent recognized Fortigate certification.
- Practical knowledge of network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g. Python Ansible).
- Strong grasp of routing protocols (BGP OSPF) switching technologies (VLANs STP) and tunneling protocols (IPsec SSL VPN).
