TheManager Manufacturing & Process Engineeringis responsible for leading our team of manufacturing engineers. This role is crucial for optimizing our production processes ensuring efficient and high-quality manufacturing operations and supporting the introduction of new products. Manager Manufacturing & Process Engineering will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives managing project execution and fostering a culture of technical excellence and problem-solving within the team.
This position will report to the Director Global Manufacturing & Process Engineering and is part of the Global Engineering team. It will be an on-site role in Munich.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Drive Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency reduce waste and improve product quality using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Support Production Operations: Provide hands-on engineering support to resolve manufacturing issues minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
Oversee New Product Introduction (NPI): Collaborate with R&D to ensure manufacturability and lead process validation and equipment qualification from pilot to full-scale production.
Implement Advanced Technologies: Evaluate and deploy new equipment and automation solutions to boost manufacturing capability and scalability.
Ensure Quality & Compliance: Partner with Quality teams to maintain process controls conduct RCA/CAPA and ensure regulatory compliance.
Manage Projects & Collaboration: Lead engineering projects and work cross-functionally with Production Supply Chain and R&D to drive operational excellence.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical discipline with 9 years of manufacturing engineering experience or Masters degree with 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
5 years of experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments (FDA ISO 13485 cGMP or equivalent).
3 years of direct people leadership experience managing engineering or technical teams.
Demonstrated experience leading capital equipment projects facility expansions or manufacturing process implementation from concept through qualification and production.
Experience with process validation equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) change control and risk management methodologies in a regulated environment.
Proficiency using manufacturing and quality systems such as SAP Oracle Maximo CMMS TrackWise MasterControl or equivalent enterprise systems.
Fluency in German and English language (written and spoken).
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Medical device pharmaceutical biotechnology or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
Manufacturing automation Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) MES SCADA PLCs or Industry 4.0/digital manufacturing technologies.
