Were looking for an experienced hands-on Management Accountant to take ownership of operational finance for our manufacturing site in Ulm while being based in our Wiesbaden hub.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a visible high-impact role leading a small but critical finance team and partnering closely with leadership to ensure accurate reporting compliance and continuous improvement across finance processes.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director youll play a key role in owning financial integrity leading close processes and managing end-to-end accounting operations across multiple entities.

Youll take responsibility for Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable and General Accounting while also leading and developing a team of three finance professionals.

What Youll Be Doing

Financial Control & Reporting

• Lead daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial postings
• Own month-end and year-end close delivering on time and to a high standard
• Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee reconciliations
• Manage accruals prepayments and open item resolution

Tax & Compliance

• Oversee VAT reporting including consolidated returns and EC Sales Lists
• Ensure full compliance with German GAAP (HGB) and local statutory requirements
• Support tax activities including foreign VAT recovery

Payroll & Audit

• Oversee payroll accounting in collaboration with external advisors
• Lead audit preparation including documentation and auditor coordination
• Deliver robust year-end reporting packs and analyses

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead coach and develop a high-performing finance team of three
• Ensure clear task allocation across AP AR and accounting
• Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture

Systems & Process Improvement

• Drive effective use of systems such as DATEV
• Identify and implement improvements to efficiency controls and standardisation
• Handle complex or non-routine financial transactions as needed

What Were Looking For

• Qualified accountant
• Strong expertise in German GAAP (HGB) and VAT
• Proven track record in financial close and accounting operations
• Experience with DATEV or similar systems
• Demonstrated people management experience in a multi-site environment
