Role: Linux Tester and Operations Specialist Remote/Onsite/Hybrid: Primarily Remote (Hamburg Germany preferred) Language: English
Project Context: Due to the high performance computing platform migration from RHEL 7 to RHEL 9 around 600 engineering applications primarily focused on structural analysis and simulation need to be installed and tested. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring optimal performance and reliability of these applications on a RHEL-based cluster environment. 1. Install and configure engineering applications on the existing RHEL 9 environment as part of the migration from RHEL 7. 2. Troubleshoot installation configuration and runtime issues by analyzing logs settings and system behavior. 3. Support end users and business teams with application validation functional testing and issue resolution. 4. Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline and standardize parts of the installation and testing process.
Required Skills & Qualifications: 1. Linux Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with RHEL or similar Linux distributions in an HPC or server environment. 2. Performance Analysis: Familiarity with job schedulers system monitoring tools and performance profiling. 3. Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret logs metrics and system behavior to identify root causes and propose solutions. 4. Communication (in English): Clear and concise communication skills to collaborate with engineering and IT teams.
