Your mission
The External Engagement Coordinator ensures War Child is strategically present wellprepared and effective across a wide range of external engagements including events partnerships panels meetings and speaking opportunities. Combining strong coordination and logistical skills with a strategic forwardlooking mindset the role supports which opportunities to pursue and ensures War Child shows up with clarity purpose and impact. Proactive and creative in approach the role brings together people planning content policy and followup so that every engagement is wellexecuted and generates learning.
Sitting within the War Child Alliance External Engagement Pillar the role plays a central part in positioning the organisation as a credible partner and a leader in scalable evidencebased interventions for children affected by conflict. It coordinates endtoend engagement with key audiencesincluding governments donors foundations corporates multilaterals and global influencersmaximising the value of War Childs external presence strengthening relationships enhancing visibility and supporting the scaling of solutions that deliver lasting impact for children.

What you will do:
- Create targeted campaigns for institutions philanthropists foundations and corporates and produce high-quality narratives presentations pitches and brand assets.
- Monitoring and Evaluating impact of strategies.
- Lead logistics and content coordination for War Childs presence at a range of events including Davos UNGA and other global events in collaboration with IMT Advocacy Communications and Institutional Fundraising and others as required.
- Lead on and coordinate development of presentations speaking points briefing packs and executive materials.
- With support from the wider Communications Team create compelling content for events that highlight War Child as a global leader in childrens mental health education and protection.
- With support of the wider External Engagement Department develop targeted thought leadership and engagement initiatives that highlight War Childs expertise and approaches.
- Support senior leadership and Institutional Funding teams with donor-ready materials and value propositions.
- Support the War Child Alliance Foundation Engagement Department on shared assets collaborate on team projects.
ROLE-SPECIFIC OR CONTEXT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide Marketing and Communications support to the Advocacy and Institutional Fundraising Team to raise the profile of War Childs value proposition to key stakeholders and markets.
- Coordinate War Childs presence at global events including UNGA DAVOS including coordinating and producing relevant marketing material attending events as needed.
- The role contributes to War Child Alliances external positioning and engagement ensuring the organisation is strategically present well-prepared and impactful across events partnerships and stakeholder interactions. It influences organisational reputation visibility and partnership development supporting fundraising and the scaling of evidence-based solutions for children affected by conflict. The impact is global and cross-functional delivered through coordinationof external engagement activities.
- Work is delivered with a degree of autonomy within defined strategies and frameworks in close collaboration with and under the direction of key multidisciplinary teams notably Advocacy Communications and Institutional Fundraising and other colleagues and Fundraising Members as required.
- The role communicates with a wide range of stakeholders including internal teams (Communications Advocacy Institutional Fundraising) senior leadership and by supporting teams to engage with external audiences and stakeholders. Communication focuses on developing and delivering high-quality narratives presentations and engagement materials and supporting senior-level interactions. It requires the ability to influence internally coordinate messaging and engage effectively across diverse and international contexts.
- The role applies creativity and judgement to event planning and external engagement communications plans that effectively position War Child externally. It involves using market insight programme evidence and partner-led approaches to shape messaging and engagement. The role contributes to improving external engagement approaches and thought leadership ensuring activities are purposeful effective and continuously learned from.
- The role requires experience in communications and stakeholder engagement along with strong skills in logistics content development and project management. It requires understanding of donor ecosystems evidence-based programming and partnership approaches with the ability to translate complex information into compelling narratives. Experience in the humanitarian development or social impact sector is desirable.
- The role operates in a context where errors may impact organisational reputation quality of external engagement and effectiveness of stakeholder interactions. It involves supporting high-profile events and senior-level engagement where quality accuracy and coordination are critical. Risks are primarily reputational related to the delivery and positioning of external engagement activities.

What we offer
- Location : We work with global teams with team members being based in different locations. War Child is currently operates in: Afghanistan the Central African Republic Colombia DR Congo Germany Jordan Lebanon the occupied Palestinian territory South Sudan Sweden Syria Uganda Ukraine (soon to be registered) and Yemen. We also have offices in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Preference is given to applicants who reside and have valid working permits. War Child does not offer relocation.
- Type of Contract : Local contract with salary and secondary labour conditions based on the in-country salary scale local T&Cs will apply.
