About this role:
We are seeking a dedicated Home Language Tutor to support our Hebrew-speaking students in the Primary School (ages 312). In this role you will work closely with qualified teachers on a fixed schedule to nurture the students native language skills support their cultural identity and help them integrate their linguistic background into our IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
Student Support: Work directly with native Hebrew-speaking students (ages 312) under the guidance of qualified teachers ensuring learning continuity in both languages.
Linguistic Bridge: Help students activate prior knowledge and conceptual understandings in Hebrew to support their learning within the English-taught IB PYP framework.
Cultural Identity: Foster the students home language development and support their cultural identity within our diverse community.
Collaboration: Communicate effectively with classroom teachers and parents regarding student progress and linguistic needs.
Language Proficiency: Native-level fluency in Hebrew and highly proficient (near-native) command of English. Excellent communication skills in both languages are essential for collaborating with our international faculty.
Pedagogical Awareness: Ability to navigate the complexities of language acquisition and translanguaging in an international school setting.
Experience: Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
Work Permit: A valid German work permit is mandatory at the time of application.
