Head of Technology and Engineering

For our customer an international organization specialized in the telecommunications sectorSTANDBYis looking for aHead of Technology and Engineering based in Germany (Munich).

The responsibilities will include:

Network technology selection in outside plant access and aggregation network equipment and solutions transport and IP; infrastructure (power cooling site engineering); network technology evolution
Engineering the above mentioned networks elements: configuration dimensioning normative and procedures for installation servicing and maintenance; installation and implementation projects
Service definition for end customers and for interconnection with other operators
Architect network solutions
Coordinate the engineering and technology services provided by external contractors
Design normative of optic fiber access network deployment projects
Studying technological solutions for the evolution / optimisation of optic fiber networks
Planning and implementing certification programs for connectivity solutions on optic fiber networks
Evaluating and certifiying network architecture designs including elements such as PoP OLT ODF ONT BNG LAC AAA and the equipment that supports the optic fiber network
Managing technology solution provider contracts monitoring and supervising SLAs as well as establishing and optimizing service and maintenance processes for fiber optic networks
Providing information to optimize network investments and budget management
Defining the guidelines to follow for problem solving as well as participating in the evaluation of network changes and construction defects
Building and leading a team

Skillsrequired:

University degree (desirable: any type of engineering) with technical focus and weight in the areas of network engineering / electricity; alternatively successfully completed technical / commercial vocational training (Ausbildung) together with professional experience in these areas
At least 7 years experience in comparable positions ideally in the telecommunications industry
Proven technical knowledge of fiber communication technology as per the position to apply to: IP routing / switching technologies and protocols including BGP OSPF ISIS MPLS L2TP QoS VRRP network transport aggregation GPON networks civil work techniques outside plant solutions and industry standards
Proven experience in managing employees and contractors
Proven leadership experience
Good communication skills in German & English (oral and written) Spanish language skills are a plus
Excellent knowledge of all common MS Office applications especially Excel; experience with tools used in network deployments: workflow mapping etc.
