Job Summary

About the Role

The BMS is where software meets power. As our Hardware Engineer youll own the hardware side of the Anori BMS with a focus on the power stage: power electronics cell connection and protection circuits. At the same time youll be our go-to person for hardware testing and make sure every board holds up under real-world conditions from HiL test benches to stress tests and EMC pre-compliance. Youll work closely with Stefan our CTO and our firmware engineers to take the BMS from a tested prototype to a fully certified product. The technology is proven the funding is secured and the hardware decisions you make now will define how every future Anori BMS works.

Start date: from January 1 2027

What Youll Do
  • Design and develop the power stage of our BMS: the highest power density on the market

  • Make the trade-off between performance reliability supply chain and price for each part

  • Build and run hardware tests: HiL setups stress tests HALTs and failure analysis

  • Plan and run EMC pre-compliance testing and prepare the path to conformity

  • Bring up new boards and debug them together with the firmware team

  • Contribute across the entire BMS hardware wherever you are needed

What You Bring
Must have
  • Solid foundation in electrical engineering from the schematic to the PCB. You know the parasitic effects of every practical circuit and you design with them

  • Deep knowledge of power electronics: MOSFET switch design SOA gate drive current sensing and loss budgets

  • Experience with protection circuits e.g. overcurrent short circuit over- and undervoltage reverse polarity

  • Circuit and thermal simulation for example in LTspice with model-to-hardware correlation on the bench

  • Confident in the lab: oscilloscopes power supplies electronic loads thermal measurements and of course hand-soldering 01005 components

  • Critical analytical systematic thinking: you reason from first principles make your assumptions explicit and challenge existing paradigms

Strongly preferred
  • A broad hardware skill set beyond the power stage: microcontroller circuits analog sensing communication interfaces (CAN LIN BLE )

  • Proven hands-on testing experience including HiL tests and stress tests

  • Knowledge of DfM and new electronic manufacturing techniques materials and general mechanical integration knowledge

  • Thermal design and cooling concepts for high-current paths

  • Wide-bandgap semiconductors and new switch topologies and an interest to research and develop novel gate-drive techniques beyond standard drivers

Nice to have
  • High-voltage design above 60V: creepage and clearance isolation isolation monitoring and safe discharge

  • Experience with battery systems cell connection and cell monitoring ICs (AFEs)

  • Test automation with Python

  • A background in safety-critical systems (IEC 61508 ISO 26262 )

  • Knowledge in MBSE and requirements engineering methods (the skills not the paper)

You dont tick every box Apply anyway. No one matches a job description 100%. If this role excites you and you see yourself growing into it we want to hear from you.

What We Offer
  • Work on a product with purpose that redefines the state of art: our product is a key part to enable competitive battery energy storage.

  • Work directly with the founding team on decisions that shape the company. The team is small so your ideas will matter. A lot.

  • Challenging engineering in an industrial but research-near environment. We bring research into the industry.

  • A modern stack and methods: Rust MBSE everything as code and the best tools and techniques for the job chosen on merit.

  • To be both supported and challenged: room to grow and the expectation that you will.

You might be a fit if
  • You hold yourself to a high standard and dont settle for good enough.

  • You want to have a big say in what the Anori BMS looks like and how it works

  • You are eager to try out new tools and enjoy incorporating AI into your work to make your life easier and more productive

  • You are excited about startups and all the opportunities and uncertainties that come with it

  • You want to be an active part in accelerating the energy transition in Europe

  • You are comfortable with English as a working language

  • You are happy to be in the office most of the time because for fast decisions we need to be in the same room. We expect you to be in the office at least 3 days / week

Interview Process
  1. First Call A short chat with one of our founders. Well get to know your background and answer any questions you have about Anori Tech. 30 min

  2. Deep Dive with Case Study (on-site) A meeting with Stefan our CTO. We want to understand how you work and talk through your past projects. The meeting also includes a small case study and we will send you some context information for it beforehand. 2 - 3 hours

  3. Meet the Team (on-site) Time to meet your future colleagues! In this meeting we get to know each other. This is also the time to discuss final details like salary. 1 - 2 hours

The on-site meetings will be at our lab at the Bahrenfeld Startup Lab: Luruper Hauptstraße 1 22547 Altona

You also want to become an Anori We cannot wait to meet you. Go and click the apply button. Dont be shy we are nice.

P.S. Extra bonus if you tell us what your favorite type of tea is.
