To strengthen our finance team in Hamburgs vibrant HafenCity we are looking for a dedicated German-Speaking Accounting Clerk (f/m/d).
In this dynamic role you will take ownership of daily accounting processes while collaborating closely with operational departments:
- Accounts Receivable & Dunning: Manage accounts receivable including proactive telephone follow-ups with customers and freight forwarders regarding open invoices and cash collection.
- Accounts Payable: Check code and post incoming vendor invoices and handle payment runs.
- Banking & General Ledger: Post daily bank transactions handle cash accounts and reconcile sub-ledgers (AR AP fixed assets).
- Intercompany Accounting: Prepare verify and post intercompany recharges within the corporate group.
- Month-End & Year-End Closings: Support the monthly and annual financial closing processes and assist with financial reporting and analysis.
Requirements (Must-Haves):
- Education: Completed commercial apprenticeship (e.g. Steuerfachangestellte/r Finanzbuchhalter/in) or equivalent accounting qualification.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on accounting experience (covering AR AP and general ledger).
- Software Skills: Proficiency in SAP FI and advanced MS Office skills (especially Excel functions and pivot tables).
- Languages: Native/Fluent German (C2 level required) and good business English (B1 level).
- Communication: Strong phone skills and confidence in contacting customers regarding overdue payments.
- Work Style: Independent analytical precise and team-oriented.
- Location: Commutable distance to the Hamburg office (maximum 1-hour commute; full remote work is not available).
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience within the shipping freight forwarding or logistics industry.
- Exposure to intercompany transactions and foreign currencies.
- Interest in digitalizing financial workflows.
