Introduction
GlobalFoundries Digital Manufacturing has an opportunity for a skilled and motivated Robotics Applications engineer to join our worldwide robotics and automation transformation team. As a subject matter expert for mobile robotics you will play a key role in establishing and driving our OneGF mobile robotics strategy - worldwide across GFs 200mm and 300mm semiconductor fabs in the US Germany and Singapore. Your responsibilities will include technical leadership and hands-on support to site engineering teams scaling and optimizing mobile robot deployment programs in a high-volume manufacturing environment. A successful candidate will have extreme attention to detail to prevent unintended changes or process variations strong cross-functional engagement and commitment to continuous improvement. We are seeking a passionate engineer who can lead and deliver complex engineering projects develop innovative solutions and collaborate in a manufacturing environment.
Your Job
Provide on-site and remote engineering leadership in the deployment/commissioning of an expanding worldwide fleet of mobile robots performing semiconductor manufacturing and support operations in existing fabs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design integrate deploy and optimize the performance of robotic systems. This work applies to the automation of legacy human operations as well as new operational installations. Key focus on Fab9 site in Essex Junction Vermont
Engage with external robotics suppliers and partners/integrators to evaluate select and deploy automation solutions troubleshoot and continuously improve operational performance. Key focus on suppliers based in Germany (KUKA BEC) and Ireland (ControlSoft)
Lead the integration of overall capability roadmap and requirements in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders Digital Manufacturing Robotics Strategy Lead site automation teams and suppliers.
Contribute to and engage in continuous improvement efforts to enhance systems procedures equipment availability utilization cycle time cost etc.
Create and modify existing training material and procedures providing first class reference material for peers and internal customers.
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental Health Safety & Security requirements and programs
Other duties as assigned by supervisor / manager

Required Qualifications
Education - BS degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Robotics Engineering IT/CompSci or a similar discipline
Experience - 7 years industry experience with robotics applications engineering
Demonstrated experience and skills in robotic programming fleet management and its integration with factory control systems robot log and signal retrieval and analysis
Excellent verbal and written communication skills able to describe complex problems clearly aligning key stakeholders
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Self-starter capable of leading and managing complex problems and projects - resourceful creative and innovative in developing solutions to resolve issues
Proven track record of successfully implementing complex projects
Fluent in English language (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications
MS degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Robotics Engineering IT/CompSci or a similar discipline
5 years industry experience in manufacturing engineering
Understanding of / experience with semiconductor manufacturing
Experience commissioning debugging and improving collaborative mobile robots
Proficiency with data analytical/statistical tools such as JMP Excel/Pivot Tables etc.
Knowledge of PLC and robotic program methods and principles
Knowledge of SECS/GEM protocols
