Electronics Production and Repair Technician (mwd), Part-Time
Job Summary
KOMA Elektronik develops and manufactures electronic musical instruments in Berlin. Were a small independent team exploring unusual ways for people to interact with sound with a relaxed working atmosphere a shared enthusiasm for music electronics.
Were looking for someone to help build our instruments. Youll work closely with the people behind the products and help turn electronic components into instruments that inspire musicians around the world.
This is primarily a hands-on production role involving assembly soldering testing and some routine repairs. Well teach you our products and processes with the aim of having you organise and complete your assigned production batches independently once youre familiar with the work. Our production lead will be there to help with questions and more complex technical issues.
Were looking for someone to join us from November 2026 initially working two days per week with the possibility of increasing to three days by mutual agreement. This is an ongoing part-time position at our Berlin workshop.
- Assemble solder test and package our electronic musical instruments.
- Once familiar with our processes organise and complete assigned production batches to agreed quantities and deadlines.
- Carry out quality checks paying attention to both electronic performance and the finish of the completed product.
- Keep production and test records up to date and help maintain clear assembly instructions.
- Record material usage keep components organised and flag missing parts or production problems early.
- Carry out routine repairs with support from our production lead for unfamiliar or more complex faults.
- Occasionally help with shipping orders and other practical workshop tasks.
- Hands-on soldering experience whether gained through employment training or your own DIY projects.
- Familiarity with common electronics tools including a multimeter and a basic understanding of electronic components and circuit diagrams.
- A careful reliable and methodical approach to practical work. Youre comfortable with repetitive assembly and testing not just the exciting troubleshooting bits.
- The ability to organise your tasks follow instructions keep clear records and communicate when something is unclear or not going to plan.
- An interest in electronics and a willingness to learn our products and production processes.
Experience with SMD soldering and rework electronics repairs oscilloscopes or flashing microcontrollers is welcome but you dont need to arrive knowing everything. Well provide training in our product-specific procedures.
Relevant experience can come from a previous job vocational training or personal projects. You dont need a particular degree and being a synthesizer expert is not a requirement.
