Your mission
We are seeking a skilled and innovative crystallization expert to join our dynamic team focused on developing next generation of lithium-sulfur battery technology. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of solvent-based crystallization processes. This role focuses on developing high-quality 3-dimensional monolithic sulfur-based wafers for use in our lithium-sulfur batteries. As an integral part of the team you will play a critical role in the research design development and implementation of theions polycrystalline sulfur wafer technology and contribute towards the improvement scalability and commercialization of the same.
Your tasks
- Design and execute experiments to grow 3-dimensional polycrystalline sulfur wafers using solution-based crystallization.
- Optimize crystallization process to maintain a high degree of control over porosity uniformity and thickness of the grown sulfur wafer.
- Investigate growth mechanisms and establish robust protocols for consistent and scalable wafer production.
- Design and implement nanomaterial seeding strategies to modulate and control crystal growth sulfur.
- Evaluate the impact of different seed introductions on the wafer quality structural integrity and crystallographic properties.
- Contribute towards the design and implementation of wafer growing reactor.
- Collaborate with material scientists to select and tailor nanomaterials for optimal seed-induced growth modulation.
- Perform comprehensive material characterization using techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD) scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and spectroscopy methods.
- Analyze growth kinetics and crystal morphology drawing correlations between process parameters and seeding material properties.
- Maintain record of experimental data and prepare detailed technical reports and publications.
- Work cross-functionally with scientists engineers and external partners to advance sulfur wafer growth technologies.
Your profile
Absolute-Must-Haves
- PhD in Materials Sciences Physics Chemical Engineering Process Engineering or a related field with a focus on crystal growth.
- Demonstrated expertise in solution-based crystal growth wafer crystallization and related techniques.
- Proficiency in advanced material characterization methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of scientific publications or patents.
- Fluent in speaking English our company language is English incl. all the internal communication and meetings.
- Hands-on experience in nanomaterial handling.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to innovate and think critically.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
