Cloud Operations Manager

Job Summary

- Lead mentor and develop a distributed Cloud Operations team across multiple locations.
- Foster a culture of ownership accountability and continuous improvement.
- Drive team performance through clear goal-setting regular feedback and career development support.
- Manage hiring onboarding and team structure as the organization scales.
- Own the end-to-end incident management lifecycle from detection and response to post-mortem analysis and preventive action.
- Define and enforce SLAs SLOs and escalation procedures.
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of observability and monitoring strategies (metrics logs traces) to ensure proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Drive a culture of blameless retrospectives and lessons learned.
- Take ownership of cloud spend visibility forecasting and governance.
- Identify and drive cost optimization initiatives across cloud infrastructure (rightsizing reserved capacity resource lifecycle management etc.).
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to embed cost-awareness into architectural decisions.
- Report on cloud financial KPIs to leadership and stakeholders.
- Partner with the Support and Technical Account Management teams to represent Cloud Operations in customer escalations RFP responses and pre/post-sales engagements.
- Provide technical input and operational insights for customer cases requiring cloud expertise.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for cloud operational matters in cross-departmental initiatives.
- Proven experience leading or managing a cloud operations SRE or infrastructure team.
- Strong background in incident management on-call operations and observability tooling (e.g. Grafana PagerDuty ELK Prometheus or similar).
- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS Azure and/or GCP) and/or cloud-agnostic deployment platforms and open-source technologies (e.g. Kubernetes Terraform OpenStack or similar infrastructure-as-code and containerization frameworks).
- Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize cloud costs at scale.
- Experience collaborating with customer-facing teams (Support TAM Pre-Sales) on technical topics.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken); additional languages (Romanian German Finnish) are a plus.
- Strong people management skills with a track record of building and retaining high-performing teams.
- Strategic thinker who can balance operational day-to-day demands with longer-term improvements.
- Data-driven decision-maker with a focus on measurable outcomes.
- Comfortable working in a remote-first internationally distributed environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to Romania Germany and Finland.
