Application Support Engineer (fmd)

As a Technical Application Support Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the stability performance and reliability of our healthcare applications. You will investigate complex technical issues perform root cause analysis and work closely with Engineering Product and Customer Success teams to deliver effective solutions. This hands-on role requires strong technical expertise excellent troubleshooting skills and a passion for supporting mission-critical healthcare software.
Tasks
- Investigate troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across application configuration integration and database layers.
- Perform root cause analysis using logs SQL queries and API tracing.
- Configure maintain and optimize healthcare applications to ensure reliable system performance.
- Support software implementations upgrades deployments and system integrations.
- Escalate complex issues with clear technical documentation including root cause analysis and recommended solutions.
- Provide technical support and user training adapting communication to different technical audiences.
- Identify recurring issues recommend long-term improvements and contribute to continuous product optimization.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering Product and Customer Success teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with security quality and regulatory requirements in a healthcare environment.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Health Informatics or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in technical application support application management or a similar technical role.
- Solid experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g. MySQL or PostgreSQL).
- Good understanding of REST APIs system integrations and application troubleshooting.
- Experience analyzing application logs debugging technical issues and working with distributed systems.
- Familiarity with Docker Nginx or similar infrastructure technologies is an advantage.
- Experience with reporting or BI solutions (e.g. Power BI Bold BI or similar) is a plus.
- Experience working in healthcare medical device pharmaceutical or other regulated software environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently manage technical issues from investigation through resolution.
- Excellent written and spoken English; German language skills are an advantage.
