The SOHO HOUSE includes the concept store THE STORE X. THE STORE X is a platform for ideas and culture. The range includes fashion art design and also attracts a global community of creative people to 180 The Strand in London Soho House Berlin and Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire. Our aim is to present a new kind of experience space that exceeds customer expectations of traditional retail and shopping.

The role...

The Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the hotel and members club by maintaining accurate financial records processing transactions and assisting with financial reporting reconciliations and budget monitoring. The role ensures that all accounting activities are carried out accurately and in compliance with internal procedures and financial regulations.

Key Accountabilities...

• Preparation of weekly monthly and annual reports including the related account reconciliations
• Supporting the tax office with VAT returns and annual financial statements
• Managing the general ledger and fixed asset register
• Handling accounts receivable including issuing customer invoices
• Handling accounts payable including preparing payment runs
• Entering and reconciling delivery notes in the inventory management system
• Monitoring payments and managing the dunning/collections process
• Handling daily cash reconciliation
• Posting and reconciling bank transactions
• Maintaining vendor and customer master data
• Preparing statistical reports (e.g. intra-community acquisitions)
• Acting as a contact person for internal and external inquiries related to accounts payable and receivable
• Leading supporting and working closely with the team

Experience Required...

• Independent and meticulous working style
• Fluent in German and English both written and spoken
• Strong affinity for working with numbers
• High level of commitment and initiative
• Strong affinity for software and digital tools
• Completed commercial training preferably in hospitality retail or finance
• At least one year of professional experience in a similar position
• Ideally experience with Sage Rossum MS Office Shopify Micros Symphony and Adaco (Fourth)
• High attention to detail and strong quality awareness
• Strong organizational skills
• Team player
