Job Description

The Account Executive is responsible for sales and revenue growth in a geographic territory. This role will use consultative, solution selling skills, along with a strong understanding of the industry, and achieve the assigned quota attainment of new revenue from selling software, training and other business services.

Tasks

  • Manage revenue growth within a multi-state territory selling SaaS solutions to business clients
  • Achieve designated quotas and meet assigned performance expectations
  • Identify new sales opportunities through lead generation, cold-calling, networking, etc.
  • Employ assertive and effective sales techniques
  • Acquire new clients, retain current clients and enhance the company s strong brand image
  • Manage clients through the entire sales cycle and negotiate/close deals
  • Maintain an up-to-date sales funnel in the CRM and comply with CRM policies and procedure
  • Attend trade shows and industry events
  • Escalate pricing, SLA or other issues as needed
  • Assist with post-sales support and implementation as needed
  • Participate in customer renewal/retention activities
  • Collaborate with Sales/Systems Engineering, Customer Experience and other teams
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge on all products, programs and promotions
  • Travel extensively (50% - 75%) within, and occasionally outside of, an assigned territory

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of business-to-business (B2B) sales experience
  • 3+ years of experience selling software (SaaS) solutions (preferred)
  • Proven experience successfully managing and growing a large sales territory
  • Experience meeting and exceeding monthly or quarterly sales quotas
  • Experience selling in the K-12 education industry (preferred)
  • Persistent and creative; able to close deals and thrive under pressure
  • Software solutions knowledge
  • Experience in consultative selling of a technical product
  • Self-starter with proven time management skills
  • High business acumen with strong communication skills
