The Account Executive is responsible for sales and revenue growth in a geographic territory. This role will use consultative, solution selling skills, along with a strong understanding of the industry, and achieve the assigned quota attainment of new revenue from selling software, training and other business services.
Tasks
- Manage revenue growth within a multi-state territory selling SaaS solutions to business clients
- Achieve designated quotas and meet assigned performance expectations
- Identify new sales opportunities through lead generation, cold-calling, networking, etc.
- Employ assertive and effective sales techniques
- Acquire new clients, retain current clients and enhance the company s strong brand image
- Manage clients through the entire sales cycle and negotiate/close deals
- Maintain an up-to-date sales funnel in the CRM and comply with CRM policies and procedure
- Attend trade shows and industry events
- Escalate pricing, SLA or other issues as needed
- Assist with post-sales support and implementation as needed
- Participate in customer renewal/retention activities
- Collaborate with Sales/Systems Engineering, Customer Experience and other teams
- Maintain a high level of knowledge on all products, programs and promotions
- Travel extensively (50% - 75%) within, and occasionally outside of, an assigned territory
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of business-to-business (B2B) sales experience
- 3+ years of experience selling software (SaaS) solutions (preferred)
- Proven experience successfully managing and growing a large sales territory
- Experience meeting and exceeding monthly or quarterly sales quotas
- Experience selling in the K-12 education industry (preferred)
- Persistent and creative; able to close deals and thrive under pressure
- Software solutions knowledge
- Experience in consultative selling of a technical product
- Self-starter with proven time management skills
- High business acumen with strong communication skills
