Turing is looking for a remote Senior Software Engineer on behalf of a US-based company that is revolutionizing the supply chain of commerce management with superior technology and systems. The developer will be a key member of the cloud engineering team to build out the company's location and mapping cloud. The company has made it a mission to track the world's commerce and provide businesses with managed services for live locations. They have managed to raise $8.3 mn+ in funding so far. This will be a long-term role that requires 4+ hours to overlap with the PST time zone.
Job Responsibilities:
- Process real-time contextual data streams from devices and generate application-aware ground truth
- Design and develop algorithms and heuristics to infer accurate locations and other application enrichments
- Enhance routes for static, dynamic, and flexible fulfillment, focusing on availability, capacity, slots, and live location
- Leverage ML and feedback loops to boost location, mapping features and improve accuracy
- Communicate with users to identify and deliver solutions to challenging problems
Job Requirements:
- BS or MS in engineering, preferably CS, EE, Math or Physics (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Prolific experience with Python, Data Science, APIs, Algorithms, and Data Structures
- Strong knowledge of Logistics, Mapping, Geospatial, and Cloud engineering is nice to have
- Prior experience with location and mapping technologies, geospatial services and data sets, device-to-cloud technologies, and real-time systems is desirable
- Nice to have some prior experience building production systems at scale, APIs, ML, web applications, and analytics
- Prior startup experience is preferable
- Proven skill in algorithms and data structures, first principles problem solving, math and numbers, open-ended problems, and lateral thinking
- Energetic and adaptable, curious and excited to work on the most challenging problems involving live location-based logistics
