Remote Senior Full Stack Back-end-heavy Engineer (Python, PostgreSQL, and microservice APIs)

Turing is looking for a remote Senior Full Stack Back-end-heavy Engineer on behalf of a cloud-based technology company transforming business processes in the transportation industry. The developer will be tasked with developing, enhancing, and supporting the core platform and business-facing applications. The company utilizes IoT, data, and AI technologies to provide a neutral platform that simplifies complex global supply chains to value-driven networks. It has raised more than $10 mn in funding during the Series A round. This role requires an overlap with the EST time zone and will be a full-time position. Job Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain applications utilizing a micro-services API framework and SQL services using PostgreSQL and JavaScript through a REACT or jQuery framework
- Analyze and propose designs, build scalable and highly performing APIs, including security and error handling kept at the core
- Implement automated unit tests using popular integration testing frameworks
- Actively solicit the involvement of other developers and subject matter experts to ensure integrity and efficiency of integrations
- Perform appropriate and thorough testing on all code changes
- Implement enterprise architecture patterns and best practices for Cloud-based application development and complete tasks effectively
- Handle multiple assignments concurrently, ensuring code branching, coder merging, and regular automated deployments
- Maintain technical documentation (HLD, LLD, Sequence Diagrams and other relevant UML diagrams)
- Demonstrate object-oriented thinking, data models integrity, and long-term product value in every design and implementation decision


Job Requirements:

- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a full-stack or back-end engineer
- Minimum of 5 years experience developing enterprise-class full-stack services utilizing Python, PostgreSQL, and microservice APIs
- Familiar with AWS hosted services and AWS based Cloud applications development
- Strong knowledge of microservice API design and implementation
- Excellent understanding of API Gateways is nice to have
- Prior working experience of NoSQL technologies like Cassandra is desirable
- Nice to have some knowledge of RabbitMQ, Kafka Message engines
- Solid understanding of Redis, Elasticsearch, etc., is nice to have
