Child Safeguarding: Level 3: the role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff. | |
ROLE PURPOSE: The Medical Coordinator ensures the efficient provision of high-quality medical services in line with SCI guidelines. This includes overseeing the full referral cycle monitoring health status and treatment progress for admitted cases tracking service costs and ensuring accurate reporting. Under the direct supervision of the Health Officer the Medical Coordinator will closely follow up on admissions service delivery case progress and discharge and will provide timely field reports. | |

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY Lead the full cycle of medical case management including initial assessment triage referral to healthcare facilities coordination of service delivery follow-up and reporting. Conduct scheduled field visits to healthcare facilities to monitor patient progress verify service quality track costs and maintain regular communication with provider focal points. Prepare review and submit comprehensive admission follow-up and discharge reports including medical details and cost breakdowns. Ensure accurate data entry in all relevant data collection tools. Provide timely updates and reports on elective cases admitted discharged and on patients still receiving care. Track and record all cash payments including any payments made to public hospitals when required. General Responsibilities: Demonstrate leadership and compliance with all Save the Children policies and practices including safeguarding code of conduct health and safety and equal opportunities. Promote childrens rights well-being and protection particularly during emergencies guided by humanitarian principles and the code of conduct. Be prepared to support SCIs emergency responses showing flexibility and prioritizing assigned emergency tasks as needed. | |

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree in medicine (MBBS/MBBCh) is required with completion of the mandatory internship year and a valid medical license issued by the Ministry of Health. A minimum of 24 years of relevant clinical experience in hospitals healthcare facilities or other related medical settings is required. Proven experience in medical case management is preferred. Strong experience in coordinating and maintaining relationships with government authorities and relevant stakeholders is highly desirable. Previous experience working with refugees asylum seekers or other vulnerable populations is considered an asset. Excellent interpersonal communication and coordination skills. Strong report writing and documentation skills in English. Knowledge of child safeguarding principles and humanitarian standards is an advantage.
