Student Assistant at CIE SDU Sønderborg

The Centre for Industrial Electronics (CIE) at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a Student Research Assistant position (10 hours per week) from 1 October till 30 September 2027. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated student to gain research experience in capacitor technologies.

Research Area

The successful candidate will contribute to activities related to the fabrication and characterization of capacitors including:

• Electrolytic capacitors
• Metallized film capacitors

The work will involve laboratory-based experiments materials characterization performance testing and data analysis aimed at supporting the development of next-generation capacitor technologies.

Key Responsibilities

As a student research assistant you will:

• Assist in the fabrication and assembly of capacitor prototypes.
• Perform electrical and materials characterization experiments.
• Collect analyze and document experimental data.
• Support laboratory maintenance and equipment operation.
• Collaborate with researchers PhD students and other team members on ongoing research projects.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should have:

• An educational background in Electronics Engineering Physics Materials Science or a related field.
• Theoretical knowledge of advanced electronics.
• Hands-on laboratory experience related to capacitor fabrication and characterization.
• Familiarity with advanced characterization techniques such as:
  • Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
  • Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM).
• The ability to work independently and systematically in a research laboratory.
